Arshad Ali
Ph.D., Lancaster University
Arshad Ali is Professor of Information Technology and he holds the current post since June 2023. He specializes in the area of Wireless Sensor Network.
He was born in Punjab, Pakistan, most of his early education from local city. He finishes his BSc in Mathematics and Statistics from University of Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan in 2000 and completed his Masters in Computer Sciences from Iqra University, Lahore, Pakistan. After completing his Masters, he worked as Lecturer in Private College in Pakistan. In 2005, he moved to Birmingham, UK for further studies. He joined Aston University, Birmingham, UK and obtained his MSc Telecommunication Technology in 2007. In 2007, he joined Geotechnical Group, Department of Engineering, and University of Cambridge as Research Ass. (2007- 2009). In 2009, he was awarded a PhD (2009- 2012) scholarship from Lancaster University, UK and he awarded PhD in 2012.
He worked on the UK-NEES project and designed communication systems for live experimentation between UK Universities (Cambridge, Oxford, and Bristol). He was also part of the project at University of Cambridge “Installing Wireless Sensors in London Underground Tunnels” and it was collaborated with Imperial College, London. He is currently working as Professor, Head and key member of various committees at Faculty of Computer and Information System, Islamic University of Madinah, Al Madinah Al Munawarah, KSA.

Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity
Prof. Dr. Arshad Ali specializes in Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity, with a research focus on applying intelligent algorithms to enhance the security of modern digital systems. His work explores the use of machine learning and data-driven techniques for cyber threat detection, secure network communication, and protection of distributed and wireless systems.
His research interests include AI-based intrusion detection, malware and anomaly detection, secure intelligent networks, and cybersecurity for IoT and sensor-based environments. He is particularly interested in developing trustworthy and resilient AI-driven security solutions that address real-world cyber threats.
In teaching and research supervision, he emphasizes the practical application of Artificial Intelligence in cybersecurity, bridging theoretical models with real-world security challenges. He actively contributes to advancing secure, intelligent, and adaptive cyber defense systems through academic research and interdisciplinary collaboration.

My research spans multiple areas of natural language processing and artificial intelligence, with a focus on building systems that can truly understand human communication.

My research focuses on designing secure and reliable methods for transmitting data over wired and wireless networks to prevent unauthorized access and data breaches.
Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence
I am interested in applying artificial intelligence techniques to enhance cybersecurity, including threat detection, intrusion prevention, and automated security analysis. system breaches.
IoT based Smart Cities Solution
This area involves developing secure and efficient IoT systems to support smart city services such as traffic management, energy optimization, and public safety.
Structural Health Monitoring by using Wireless Sensor Network
My research explores the use of wireless sensor networks to monitor the condition of structures in real time, enabling early detection of damage and improving safety.
Target Tracking over Sensor Network
This research focuses on tracking moving targets accurately using distributed sensor networks while minimizing energy consumption and communication overhead.
Intelligent Network Security
Designs adaptive AI-powered methods to protect networks and data flows. Enhances monitoring, anomaly detection, and automatic threat mitigation.
